Charleston, SC (May 2nd, 2009) — PaddleFish, Inc., one of Southeast’s fastest growing ecotour companies, announced the re-opening of Andell Bluff, the company’s flagship location located near Kiawah and Seabrook Islands in South Carolina. “You can truly feel the history in this place. It’s in the shadows of the oaks, the taste of the salt in the air and the scent of the fertile soil beneath your feet. A trip from here is one you’ll never forget,” said Hunter Graham, senior guide after returning from the first kayaking trip since re-opening.

The area has escaped the pressure of development from nearby Kiawah and Seabrook Islands by partnering with PaddleFish, who helps raise awareness of the properties historical significance and provides the family with a source of sustainable revenue. Andell Bluff is what remains of Andell Bluff Plantation, which once encompassed Seabrook Island and much of the eastern tip of Johns Island. The ancient live oaks on site have shared their shade with the abundant wildlife that inhabit the nearby salt marshes and undeveloped hammocks for hundreds of years. Native American’s once built a magnificent village upon it’s banks, the sights and sounds of America’s fight for freedom could once be heard from the plantation’s fields, and farmers once soaked up the smell of freshly cut cabbage as left the docks and sailed away towards Charleston’s produce markets.

“Andell Bluff has remained in the trust of the Andell family for more than 100 years, and we have always been honored to share their history, heritage, and unique story with our guests. This is truly a treasured place and we hope to help the family keep it that way well into the future.”  said Joe Rowland, partner and Director of Propaganda.

Andell Bluff was PaddleFish’s second location, which was originally opened in May of 2004. The company was forced to close the location last year after concerns were raised regarding the lack of required facilities by local and state agencies. Partners worked diligently for more than a year to meet the local and state requirements without affecting the natural beauty of Andel Bluff. Those requirements were meet last week, and PaddleFish promptly re-opened just in time for the peak season.

The official grand re-opening celebration is scheduled for Saturday, May 16th, 2009. There will be plenty of libations, food and boat rides on the Pirate’s Lady. Participants will also be able to register to win some paddling gear.

Charleston, SC (January 26th, 2009) — PaddleFish, Inc., one of Southeast’s fastest growing ecotour companies, announced the opening of a new location in Savannah, Georgia at the Bull River Marina located at 8005 Old Tybee Road (Hwy. 80 East), between historic downtown Savannah and the beaches of Tybee Island.

“After our successful expansion to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in western North Carolina is 2008, we refocused on opportunities along the South Carolina and Georgia coast. Several cities were targeted, but Savannah offered the right conditions for market growth,” said Joe Rowland, partner and chief marketing officer.

PaddleFish opened its first location in downtown Charleston, South Carolina in 2004 with a handful of kayaks and two guides. Armed with the mantra that sea kayaking should be accessible to everyone regardless of age or experience, PaddleFish built a tour program around boats, gear, and facilities designed for comfort, expandability, and ease-of-use. Guides were trained to place emphasis on the experience of interacting with nature instead of the sport of sea kayaking. PaddleFish now offers guided sea kayaking tours, powerboat excursions, and multi-day expeditions from five unique destinations in three southeastern states.

PaddleFish will begin offering guided sea kayaking tours in early March 2009. Guided sea kayaking nature tours, guided sea kayaking sunset tours, and guided sea kayaking fishing trips are among the initial tours to be offered from the Bull River Marina with multi-day expeditions slated for 2010.
